La Harde

An encounter between the duo Faune and the videographer Grégoire Orio.

These are the songs that celebrate our lives, extraordinary epic stories, mourning lost loves, rejoicing in birdsong with the return of spring, stories which arch and stretch like cats in the sun, solidifying like a stone that rolls down unknown paths.

The traditional songs performed in French and in Occitan by Faune come from aural collections made principally in one area, the Massif Central: in this cine-concert collaboration with the videographer Grégoire Orio, the thematic omnipresence of this musical repertoire enters into a relationship with the other, driven by the desire to create a dialogue with an international register of archive images. Thus voice and film respond to each other, contradict each other, reinforce each other in order to tell the human story (sometimes through other forms of life), to talk among other things about man’s relationship to war, with ecology and his stranglehold over the living.
