In the area of Velay, la treva (la trève) is an alarming manifestation: cause of optical illusions, moving objects, falling rocks and mysterious noises, but also demonic charivaris and diabolical possession.
Trevar in Occitan means to frequent a place, to wander, to prowl.
Conceived as a hallucinatory journey to the heart of the volcanic plateau of Velay, La Trève is a cinematographic a performance and sound installation that breaks away from the classic projection format by presenting an immersive experience of the documentary image.
« What is a landscape, that which stands before us or that engulfs us? Vertigo lies in the sensation of being sucked in and swallowed by the eyes. »
